I haven't been hiding I have just been terribly busy, I cannot login from work, and I finally have home internet access again.
I'll try not to be a stranger.
Everything is so fucking dry here I just can't believe it. It's 85 degrees which I'm diggin and almost no humidity. Sweat evaporates before I can wipe it off my brow. My eyes are dry, my nose is dry, and my mouth feels dry no matter how much water I consume. I went for a short (5 mile) hike this morning and I'm wiped out. I guess it will take a little while to acclimatize.
In other news, work is going well. I'm happy to be back with this client. It's a complex environment but the customer has such realistic expectations that no matter how difficult the tasks in this project may be, the goals are attainable.
In other, other news...I seem to have found a muse here and have started composing again. Life is good.
Cheers,
I've been absent a bit and have a little catching up to do. So I made it cross country without incident. I'm all moved in and what not and now I'm finding what was shaping up to be a couple of months might actually be a half year job. What the hell? I might get a little stir crazy sitting still that long.
Ehh there are worse places I could be than AZ.
Cheers!
Okay so I was in a pretty bad wreck on Friday. My car is totaled. I'm a little depressed by that but what completely sucks is that the airbag deployed and my face feels like someone took a potato peeler to it. Ehhh that which doesnt kill you....
....hurts like a muthafucka!
I'll be back in a few days. I need mucho rest!
Cheers!
.....and absent minded.
Sorry for being away but thats part and parcel with a little vacation (sort of). I'm not really on vacation, but I'm off the road for now taking care of the essentials before I set out again for a few months. However, I did have a little me time thrown in the mess and spent a few days at a great little (big) music festival. I did a good bit of hiking, that is, until I got bitten on the ankle by a snake. It was non-venomous but it still hurts like a muddafugga.
I'm a bit disappointed that I wont get to do everything I had hoped for before this young man goes west. It turns out that I have to get the Jeep re-registered in the new county in which I live so I gotta go do the whole emissions and tune up and stand in the tax line for a day or so. What a needless waste of 3 days of my life.
So the question of the day asks about appetizers. Hmmmmm. I would say that 1/2 dozen raw oysters would be a good start. Seaweed salad and Miso soup also make my tummy happy.
How about a little 5 for old times sake?

2. www.engrish.com or www.icanhascheezburger.com are internet gold. Seriously!
3. I am Jack's spastic colon.
4. Two wrongs may not make a right but neither can that lady I was driving behind earlier this morning.
5. In California there is a 1-800 hotline for people in denial. So far no one has called.

So the lake levels are really down now. There are little to no power boats or PWC's out on the lake. This is a welcome change, especially for a calm water paddler like myself and some of my friends. We decided to fill our packs and paddle out onto the lake for an overnighter on one of the islands. It was fantastic. The weather was warm, the water not too cold, and the island...peaceful. The night wasn't too chilly. After all the frantic travels I've had in the last several weeks it was a welcome few moments of true relaxation.
Cheers
At least for a few days....sigh.
I managed to get a good short hike in yesterday. I was joking of course when I said I was going to play with bears but I actually saw a couple of black bears while I was on the trail. What is truly remarkable is that to watch them play and frolick about you would never guess that they could beat you to a pulp if provoked or hungry. They are not terribly large but it doesnt matter. I've been knocked to the ground by a pissed off black bear and it's not like picking a bar fight. These things are much stronger than there size suggests. Not to scare you though, they usually have a healthy fear of us bipeds, so you should be safe. Just don't run if you see one.
So let's see, what else did I do with my weekend. I got together with some friends I haven't seen in a while, we got a little shitty and sang scary-oke. I'm sure we sounded worse than we think we did. Hehehe. I guess American Idol is safe....for now.
Got together with the old man for a few hours on Sunday. It's rare that I get to see him and it was a nice visit. I am finding though that as I get older I do see a lot of him in myself. I don't think thats such a bad thing. In fact, he's a pretty fucking funny guy. There are worse people I could be like.
Well it's off to the shower and to work for me.
Cheers...
If flour and water make glue.... flour, water, and eggs make dough, where did the glue go?

I'm the fool though, so don't listen to me. Hehehe.
Okay so maybe there is another thing I enjoy about coming home.
There's a werid little radio station here that I like to dial in every so often. It's an AM station and makes me feel like an old fart for listening but when you get Ray Charles and Bob Dylan in the same set you'd put up with a little static too. Besides, I dunno of another station on the planet that plays Leonard Cohen or Solas regularly. Did I mention that I'm a wacky cracker? No? Eh, consider yourself warned then. Hehehe.
In other news, I'm going hiking today. The bears have been quiet but the coyotes are getting loud this time of year.
